Note that reionisation dramatically changes the Jeans Mass. Reionisation Fossils: dwarf galaxies that formed most of their stars around z∼8 with little evolution since. About 10% of the objects formed at z∼8 exist to the present. Their sims have no problem reproducing the number of bright, nearby objects observed. But they do have problems overproducing the distant faint objects.
